The senseless attack on First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs left 26 people without their life and more than 20 others injured. The North American Mission Board had offered to cover the expenses of the funerals for those victims; however, the state of Texas will be covering those costs. Instead, Southern Baptists have redirected their funding to assist the church in rebuilding damaged facilities, provide counseling services to church members and community, as well as support for the Pastor.

If you would like to help cover some of the cost, please mail a check to the Carey Baptist Association and designate it for “Sutherland Springs” in the memo section. We will ensure the money is forwarded to the correct fund and sent to the Gambrell Baptist Association which FBC Sutherland Springs is a part of.

More than anything, remember this community in your prayers as they are mourning the loss of family and friends and recovering from this tragic act of violence.
