In the last 3 years we have had the opportunity to minister to individuals and families from Starks, Vinton, Welsh, Jennings, Lake Charles, Longsville, Marianna, Florida and others through Disaster Relief.  These are Christians and non Christians who are going through a difficult time.  We don’t need a passport, plane ticket, or a lot of personal funds to respond, show Christian love to others, and share the Gospel.  We just need to respond by being prepared through training, and making ourselves available for a day or two with local needs or a week in another state.

To begin that preparation I want you to know about Disaster Relief Training that will be held at Trinity Baptist Church, LC on February 15 and 16.

Training courses will include:

• Chainsaw
• Mudout
• Assessment
• Feeding
• Shower/Laundry
• Operational Stress First Aid (OSFA)
• Chaplain

Cost is: $30 for Chaplain; $16 for OSFA; and $28 for any of the other courses (covers tee shirt, cap, and badge).  It is $13 for previously trained individuals needing a renewal.  If you have been trained in the last 3 years, and want to train on another topic that cross training is free.  This does not apply to Chaplain or OSFA.

The only courses on Friday, February 15 are OSFA and Chaplain.  They also carry over into Saturday, February 16.  All the other courses will be on Saturday only.

Courses start at 9:00am on Friday, and 8:00am on Saturday.

Registration will be prior to the start so you should arrive 30-45 minutes early unless you pre-register. A continental breakfast will be provided both days and lunch will be provided Saturday.

Pre-registration can be done by clicking the button below.  Once you pre-register you will be sent an email with a link to follow to complete the application for a background check.  There is a small processing fee for registering online, but it will simplify things for you on the day of the training.  Registration at the door should be by cash or check.

At the end of the training you will receive a tee shirt, cap, and badge (if background information comes back timely).
