Disaster Relief
PRAY – GIVE – GO!
The first way you can help our Disaster Relief teams is praying for the many that are doing the work and for those affected by the storm. Our teams stay busy cleaning up after disasters and the work they do can be dangerous at times. Pray for their safety and for opportunities to share the gospel with others while working.
Second, you can make a monetary donation. The money you donate goes directly to our teams to be used for supplies, food, gasoline, and any expenses they may encounter while working to restore these homes and areas hit with disaster. Click the button below to make a donation now.
Third, GO! If you can give a portion of your time, our crews are always looking for more volunteers. Plan to attend one of the training events this year or do the online mud-out training to get started!
We work hard to be good stewards of your donations. Hundreds, or even thousands of volunteers will be arriving in SWLA to help people and property. Thank you for helping us with this important ministry.

Church Planting
We have so many churches already, why do we need to plant more? This is a question that is often asked in church planting, so why do we continue to plant more churches?
First and foremost, the Great Commission commands us to GO and tell others the good news of what Christ has done for us. We can’t expect the world to come to us, we must GO to them. Church plants often focus heavily on community. The church planters go to an area in a city where the people of that community are not being reached. Those people, more than likely, will not come to us; we must go to them, build relationships with them, and show them the love of Christ.
If you believe that God is calling you into the ministry of church planting, we would like to encourage you contact our Association Missions Strategist, Bruce LePoint, to discuss what next steps look like.
Church Revitalization
The number of churches that are in decline, have no impact, or are near death should cause us concern. Is your church struggling? Making no impact? Nearing the point of having to close the doors? We want all churches to survive! We want each and every church to be a lighthouse shining bright for Christ.
Carey Baptist Association has a game plan ready for these churches called the Church Revitalization Ministry. We offer the resources that can help move your church in a Kingdom direction. Instead of moving backwards, move your church toward renewal; and let us help.

Compassion Ministry
Compassion Ministry provides Louisiana Baptist churches remarkable opportunities to share the love of Christ and reach people for faith. Not only is it a nice thing to do for those in our community, God commands us to it!
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45
Compassion Ministries are numerous and varied. They include feeding and clothing programs, ministries to prisoners and their families, abortion alternative services, tutoring classes, disaster relief, counseling, and much more. It may be as simple as having a block party in the neighborhood near your church – hand them a snow cone and show them the love of Christ! When these people see our actions, we want them to ask why we are doing these things for people we don’t even know. It opens doors and gives opportunities to share the gospel.
What are you doing as a church for the community around you? Let Carey Baptist Association help your congregation start showing the compassion of Christ in your community. Our community, our city, our state, our nation, and our WORLD needs to see the love of Christ!
